Ron Johnson, PT

Ron Johnson, PT, SCS, LAT, ATC, CSCS is an orthopedic and sports physical therapist for Excel Sports Therapy in Shiner.  He enjoys providing rehabilitative care for the variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, and geriatric populations he sees at this location. Also, as a licensed and certified athletic trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist, Ron specializes in all aspects of care for the disorders seen in the athletic population. In addition to his clinical and sports medicine work, he has made academic contributions in the form of laboratory research of the throwing shoulder. To date, Ron has published nine journal articles and book chapters related to orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.  Ron also actively speaks at various seminars and national meetings, including over 60 past presentations in his field.

Ron received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University.  While at Texas A&M, he played for the fighting Texas Aggie baseball team, receiving honors of Academic All-American Region VI team and was named the Texas A&M Student Athlete of the Year in 1991.  Ron received his masters in physical therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Following his graduation from physical therapy school, he completed his requirements to become a licensed and certified athletic trainer at the University of Houston. Ron and his beautiful wife Beth, also a physical therapist in the Shiner area, are blessed with enjoying their 3 children, Darby, Riley, and Zak.
