Gulf Coast Rehabilitation, P.C. and its outpatient division, Excel Sports Therapy, is a dynamic and growing network of outpatient based therapy facilities in the greater Victoria area.
At Excel Sports Therapy, it is our goal to serve each patient’s needs and seek to assist them in achieving their own personal goals.
Upon the initial visit, the physical or occupational therapist will conduct a thorough evaluation of all relevant musculoskeletal structures. It will then be their objective to discuss the possible causes of the symptoms, what the symptoms mean and what to do about them.
The clinician will devise a plan of care aimed at returning the patient to a more active state as quickly as possible while addressing the root causes of the symptoms. The clinicians will also provide a lifetime plan to maintain an active lifestyle and prevent future problems.
Physical, Orthopedic, Occupational, manual, hand, upper extremity, and sports-specific therapies are provided at most facilities.

Excel Sports Therapy accepts Medicare, Worker’s Compensation claims, and works with the majority of private insurance carriers. Before treatments are begun, we will contact the insurance company, determine the benefits and coverage and will inform you what your co-payment and/or deductible will be.

Jay Babcock, PT, DPT

Jay Babcock is a dedicated Physical Therapist, born in Indiana and raised in Port Lavaca, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Houston-Victoria and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch.
With a passion for improving patients quality of life, Jay specializes in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, providing personalized, evidence-based care for a wide range of conditions.
In addition to his professional work, Jay has been happily married to Stacy since 2013. Together, they are raising two wonderful children, Luke (5) and Caroline Grace (1). Family life is central to his world, and he remains actively involved in their local church, Life Pointe Fellowship, where he serves in the children’s ministry.
Outside of work and family, Jay enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, playing basketball, and reading.
Kara McCain, PT

Kara, born and raised in Ganado, Texas, is a dedicated physical therapist with 16 years of experience in the Jackson County Hospital District. She has made a significant impact by caring for inpatient rehabilitation patients in the Swing Bed program and home health patients for Jackson County Home Health. Kara specializes in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, with a passion for helping athletes return to their sport after an injury. She also cares for patients with neurological conditions of all ages, striving to improve each patient’s quality of life and helping them return to their prior level of function. Kara earned her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in May 2008 and holds several advanced certifications, including a Mastery of Certification in Manual Therapy, certification in Dry Needling, and the LSVT Big Certification for Parkinson’s Disease.
Kara has been married to Will for 18 years, and they live in Ganado with their three children—Kent, 14, Easton, 12, and Demi, 7. In her personal life, she enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with her family, and vacations in the mountains, including hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter.
